Job Advert

We are looking for staff to be on a register of Casual Driver/Library Assistants who are contacted when cover is needed for staff absence. Hours will vary, as and when required and will include weekend working.

 

The role involves driving both the Mobile library and the Home Library Service vehicle, which are based at Kempston Library. In addition to driving the vehicle you will be required to help customers, deal with enquiries, use IT, carry out library routines and carry out basic vehicle checks.

 

You should be an experienced Class C driver with recent experience of driving large vehicles. A clean driving licence and the availability to lift and move boxes of books are essential.

 

You will be required to undergo a driving assessment.

 

Closing date: 1st December 2024

Interviews will be held on the 16th & 18th December 2024.

 

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
