Job Advert

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Alternative Provision Officer to join our Education Inclusion Service.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who require education outside of mainstream school settings.

 


You will play a key role in ensuring high quality, appropriate, and effective alternative provision for pupils who are unable to attend school due to exclusion, medical needs, or other complex circumstances.

 

Working closely with schools, families, and external providers, you will ensure that every child receives the education and support they deserve.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and monitor all placements within alternative provision, ensuring quality, safety, and educational outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, social care, SEND, and health professionals to identify appropriate education pathways.
  • Track attendance, progress, and wellbeing of pupils accessing alternative provision.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory guidance and local policies relating to alternative education and exclusions.
  • Contribute to commissioning, quality assurance, and development of the local alternative provision framework.
  • Provide advice and challenge to schools to prevent unnecessary exclusions and support inclusive practice.
