Job Advert

Bedford Borough Council requires a qualified Environmental Health Officer in its Community Regulation team.

 

The team is responsible for a range of activities across the fields of private sector housing (including licensing of caravan sites), public protection, planning and pollution including statutory nuisance.

 

The Council also has a large number of houses in multiple occupation and has operated a successful Additional Licensing scheme since 2013.

 

You will need to have the ability to deal with potentially confrontational situations with confidence, have good listening and negotiation skills and be able to adapt your style and approach as appropriate to each situation. Accurate record keeping skills are essential and you should be confident using a range of databases and other electronic systems.

 


You should ideally be fully qualified Environmental Health Officers and be EHORB registered, or equivalent, with demonstrable relevant previous experience however we will also consider applications from new or recently qualified individuals.

 

Closing Date: 26th May 2024, interviews will be held week commencing 3rd June 2024.
