Advanced Social Work Practitioner (Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards)
Following a review of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team we have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Best Interest Assessor Advanced Practitioner in the service.
You will be joining an established and effective service to ensure the local authority maintains its statutory duties as a supervisory body.
The Dols team is the first point of contact for all Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard applications for the council. Raising awareness and supporting the development for others in relation to understanding and applying Mental Capacity Act, Human Rights and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards legislation.
About You;
A qualified social worker with corresponding registration and extensive post qualifying experience.
Be a practising Best Interest Assessor with evidence of regular refresher training qualification.
You will be required to be fully conversant with the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Mental Capacity Act legislation as well as supporting Case law.
Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to support and provide constructive feedback to practising BIAs and S12 doctors and be able to give expert advice to service users, partners and colleagues.
Bedford Borough has an agile working policy there is an expectation that the appointed person will be available to work from Borough Hall on a weekly basis.

market rate supplement £1,200 per annum (subject to annual review) + welcome and retention payments
