Are you passionate about helping people lead healthier and more active lives? Do you want to make a positive difference by improving opportunities for people with long term health conditions poor mental health and those facing barriers to participation in physical activity?

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sports Development Officer to deliver health and wellbeing programmes that increase physical activity improve health outcomes and support stronger healthier communities across Bedford Borough.

The successful candidate will develop and coordinate innovative projects and activities that encourage participation reduce health inequalities and improve physical and mental wellbeing.

Working closely with health partners community organisations charities clubs and leisure providers, you will identify local needs build strong partnerships and create sustainable opportunities for residents to become more active.

You will support the promotion and delivery of sports development initiatives organise events and activities monitor programme performance and produce reports demonstrating impact and outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering sport physical activity health improvement or community programmes, strong organisational and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of partners and stakeholders.

We are seeking a committed, motivated and capable individual to join our busy Legal Services team and help deliver a high-quality service to the Council as Legal Clerk.


This role offers a wide variety of work including administrative support to solicitors, lawyers and paralegals, as well as some drafting of legal documents and correspondence.

You will work closely with professionals such as barristers, expert witnesses, social workers, court staff and lawyers. You must be well organised, proactive and enthusiastic, with a practical approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to the role.

In return you will have the opportunity to develop your skills while working alongside friendly and supportive colleagues in a fast-paced and engaging environment.

The role is predominantly office based at our Borough Hall site in Bedford.

We are currently recruiting for a Traffic Regulation Orders Officer (Temporary Orders) to join our team, working to minimise congestion through thorough consideration of suitable temporary traffic management systems at roadworks.

The Streetworks Team is responsible for the coordination, execution, and oversight of road works. The team manage works on our roads to keep disruption to a minimum and to ensure that anyone who digs up the street puts it back together correctly.

We are seeking a proactive Traffic Regulation Officer to play a vital role in keeping our local road network moving by coordinating and legally authorising Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTROs) for essential works and major public events.

In this dynamic regulatory role, you will collaborate closely with utility companies, emergency services and with internal and external teams to review and process road closure applications in order to minimise public disruption, and ensure the highest standards of safety.
